Pravania has been registered as a psychologist in NSW for 18 years, and has 20 years of experience and a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Macquarie University. Pravania has worked across community and educational settings with adults, youth, children, families and newly arrived refugees. These include, NSW Mental Health, Local Community Health, Not for Profit Organisations, Private practice, and Previously as Counselling Psychologist at the Macquarie University Campus Wellbeing Clinic.

Pravania is passionate about self-development, how to live with authenticity and find meaning and value in life. This passion is reflected in her interpersonal work; including how to connect in close relationships. Pravania’s top 3 client groups are; young adults, adults, and high achievers.

Pravania’s extensive experience as a psychologist has given her the skills to assess and treat a range of mental health concerns including mood disorders, attachment disorders, anxiety, relationship issues, self-development work, trauma and eating/weight difficulties.

Additionally, Pravania has worked in a number of youth-based settings including Youth Health Service, Community Mental Health and NSW Service for Treatment, and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors (STARTTS) providing assessments, treatment and group work.

Pravania’s therapeutic approach builds a beneficial client/therapist relationship that produces change and positive outcomes. This includes a focus on empathic attunement, being present with and communicating care at all times for her clients. She uses an emotional focus approach to therapy: working with deeper layers of emotions, and unconscious thoughts that we may not be aware are impacting the way we live our lives.

Pravania is committed to health and fitness and leading a holistic life, she even works as a group fitness instructor at various gyms helping people to keep psychically well and active!
